Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, I am now in my late 50s and a freelance internet consultant. In previous times I have been a sound engineer working with bands and theatre companies, and a bookseller for 21 years.
I spent many years on the Dorothy Dunnett Society committee including Chairman and Membership Administrator until standing down a couple of years ago.
I play chess, not as often as I would like, and am currently President of the Edinburgh Chess League and Membership Secretary for the Edinburgh Chess Club. My other interests include photography, music, hill-walking, and history. I’m passionate about the delightful alpine country of Slovenia and have recently bought a house there which I’ll eventually retire to.
